The Tower of Sigh was occupied by the Turks (15th century) and was ruled by Mehmet Bey. Paul and Stana were a young couple but Mehmet Bey was spellbound by Stana. One day, he sent a spy to eavesdrop on Paul and Stana, but unfortunately he was killed. Having learned of this event, Mehmet Bey blamed Paul for the misfortune, imprisoned him in the Tower of Sigh in which he spent years alone sighing, which is why it was named the Tower of Sigh. One day, Mehmet’s wife showed mercy and set all prisoners free. Paul married Stana and Mehmet Bey died in anger and despair.

Note: Tower of Sigh was filmed on Roški slap.
