Apartments Tratinska, the island of Žirje, cloudy but no rain…

Apartments Tratinska, the island of Žirje, cloudy but no rain, the bora wind has stopped blowing but the chilliness still lingers…we are sitting on the terrace, having our second cup of coffee today. I can barely keep my eyes open.

After several months of preparation we are ready for another adventure: to discover the legends of our lovely country. Last night I went to bed at 2 am, after finishing packing (read – ironing), which I had, of course, left for the last day. I woke up at 4 am, I wonder how I even managed to hear the alarm clock, but I guess the adrenalin played the main part in all this. Thank god for this, as I needed something to awake me. However, nothing is coincidental, and so last night at 1:30 am I got an email from our blogger Mike. “Lea, I got stuck at the airport and missed my flight to London. There is no way I’ll make it to the booked flight for Croatia on time. What do I do?”

Ok. Two in the morning, there is no way anything can be done at this time of the night except for looking into the other option – changing the airline. Unfortunately, I had no luck until nine in the morning. I turned the world upside down; I called the call centre, then Heathrow, and finally a friend of mine to get me the mobile phone number of a Croatia Airline operator. Nothing helped; Mike is definitely running late, he’ll be staying in London overnight, after which he’ll be arriving to Šibenik where he’ll spend the night at Johnny’s place.

We are a couple of miles away, on the island of Žirje, among as little as one hundred inhabitants, a few curious tourists and a team of divers.

We are waiting for dinner on the terrace, browsing through the videos and pictures taken. The team has gathered and met – a great team I have to say. The fun Briton Paul who promised to teach us what English humour is; the hearty Igor; and finally the only lady in our team of bloggers, Jonanna…

And here we go, we have a whole day planned tomorrow so – stay tuned.
