Tourist asset
In this part of Croatia, a well known series, “Kapelski kresovi” was filmed so we can say that the people of Gorski Kotar have experience with the filmmakers. Lokve are, as expected, delighted by the fact that in their territory a world production movie is being filmed. Chief of Lokve – Toni Štimac, announces that after the first four days of shooting, follows another one in July which is significantly extensive. During those ten days with the main actors and directors more than two hundred supporting actors and extras will stay in Lokve. Most of them will stay in the Lokve and Fužine area, and the main actors will be located in Opatija. In Lokve Tourist Board believe that the area will become interesting to many other filmmakers, primarily because they have tourism above and below the horizon, and that is just perfect for filmmakers. Because, in a small space you have mountains, lakes and caves which means that you can film both above and below the earth’s surface, from hundreds of meters underground in a cave Lokvarka to almost a thousand meters high in mountain Risnjak. Shooting of the film is very important because it also promotes the Lokve tourist attraction – Lokve lake.
And we, as passionate lovers of Gorski Kotar and that of the seventh art, has no choice but to arm ourselves with patience and then with pleasure plunge into – the Lake.
